Race and Training Calendar
Racing: General Information
Racing is happening at the FCV this year! For the 2015/2016 session, six dates have been selected. At the FCV, while winning is important, racing is about the show. Saturday night racing is going to be a blast! Use the race night as a warm up and practice for the Track OCUP races or just come out and have some fun.
Racing will be OCA sanctioned this year as a citizen's level event. Riders will require citizen's permits or UCI licences. Out of province riders will be welcome with a UCI license. US domestic licenses cannot be accepted. Don't blame us, blame the lawyers.
Registration is $30 online in advance. Please register in advance. We need to know numbers and set categories the day before. We offer refunds if you can't make it. As a last resort, we offer day of registration for $40 CASH.
The following dates are set: Nov 21, Dec 12, Dec 19, Feb. 6, and Mar 26.
Racing will be done in A, B, C, and Women's groups with a Madison to finish the night. Youth racers will have their own category. New racers are welcome to come out having gained some experience at the race training sessions on Wed and Sat but are requested to attend the race certification session.
Gears will be restricted to 90" max. You will find anything larger unnecessary given the size of the track. You can expect roll out on race day to ensure compliance. EXCEPTION: No gear restrictions for the 19K Challenge.
The track opens at 5pm for race certification, open track starts at 6pm for warmup, and racing starts at 7pm. License check, sign in and number pickup will start at 5:45pm each night and closes at 6:45pm to allow the officials time to finalize the start lists and setup the timing system. Sign in this year will be before you enter to the track and not in the in-field. Please be on time.
For the audience, the doors open at 5:30pm. General adult admission is $10.00, Seniors $5.00, and Kids are always FREE. Snacks will be sold at the concession stand. All profits support the FCV Association.
Online registration is now open. Please click HERE to register.
Questions regarding racing can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Racers from another track will be welcome, but anyone not having raced at the FCV previously will be asked to participate in an "race certification" session to familiarize themselves with the track. Race certifications sessions will be held on race day and will last one hour. Non-FCV racers are encouraged to use some of the training sessions such as Wicked Wednesday or Sadistic Saturdays to get use to the track as well. Racing at the FCV is different enough that we would like to ensure everyone can ride at speed safely.
Race Certification sessions run from 5pm-6pm on race nights.
Please see the bottom of the page on Session Information for what to expect during race certification sessions.
When registering for racing, please also selection Race Certification so we know to expect you.
