Starting from the Rail Novice riders should be instructed to drop down on to the apron before entering turn 1. A common mistake is staying on the track at too slow a speed and crashing, bringing down everyone behind you. They should also be warned not to go to the rail ahead of the start/finish line. There is too great a risk of clipping a pedal when proceeding down track in that position. |
