2013 Race Calendar
Racing is on selected Saturday nights and starts at 7 PM. However, certain special events are planned for other days of the week.
Please note that to ensure the safety of all, no rider will be allowed to race in a mass start race without first having completed a minimum numbers of laps on the Forest City Velodrome. This requirement may be waived for experienced track riders who can demonstrate their ability to hold a straight line and their knowledge of track etiquette. Such riders will still need to arrive at the track early enough to participate in a track orientation session. Experienced road riders coming to the track should read Dan Currell's "Track Cycling -- What a roadie needs to know about racing on the velodrome" available at http://www.ridethetrack.com/pdf/trackracing_intro.pdf.
Riders must sand the shine off any new slick (treadless) tires (80-grit sandpaper stapled to a block of wood works well).

2013 Ontario Provincial Track Championships
Tentative Schedule of events:
Friday evening:Kilo/500m, Sprints (round #1 + Rep), Elimination
Saturday: Individual Pursuit, Sprint Tournament
Saturday Night: IP Finals, Sprint Finals, Scratch Race, Points Race
Medals for each event, plus the 6 event Omnium.
Categories:Cadet Men, Cadet Women, Junior Men, Junior Women, Elite Men, Elite Women, Masters
Events and categories with more then 14 riders will have Qualifying races.
Racers who DNQ for an event in the Omnium will be eliminated from the Omnium competition only. Racers eliminated from the Omnium will be able to race in other events on the schedule.

FCV Oktoberfest Grand Fondo
The London, Ontario-based Forest City Velodrome (FCV) is the latest group to announce that they will be holding a Gran Fondo event. Scheduled for October 5th, the event will be limited to 50 participants, due to the size of the venue - a 138 metre track. The funds raised will go towards the Youth programs run by FCV.
The FCVOGF will have riders complete 1000 laps within a time limit of four hours. Since the number of participants is so limited (50).
The Entry fee for the FCVOGF is $100.00. The event will raise $5,000 for our very popular Youth Program.
The FCV Youth Program, helps subsidize the membership fees for all Junior aged riders, as well much of the Youth track time is offered at very reasonable rates. The barrier to get involved with any FCV Youth program is a low as possible. The cost to the FCV every year is approximately $10,000 in lost revenue.... no one is complaining.
